Sandi Hemmerlein

With a keen eye for detail, Sandi, who calls California home, is an accomplished writer and photographer. Her explorations take her to unique and often overlooked destinations, all of which she meticulously chronicles on her blog, Avoiding Regret.

Since 2015, Sandi has been contributing her writing skills to KCET’s SoCal Wanderer. Her work has also appeared in PBS SoCal, Frommer's, and Atlas Obscura. While she's lived in bustling cities like Los Angeles, New York City, and London, Sandi's travel interests often take her to less traditional spots like Chernobyl, Budapest, Morocco, Tunisia, and Cuba.
